I know this is short notice, but the Israeli decision to send ground troops into Gaza calls for stepped-up displays of public outrage. The current situation is horrid beyond belief. Help show our legislators and Sacramento's public that this is not okay; not business as usual and that we are willing to stand up and speak out. If the Gaza attacks continue, we must continue to speak out. It is the least we can do for our Palestinian brothers and sisters.
Oppose the massacre in Gaza! Vigil and protest at the Federal building (5th and I St.), downtown Sacramento.
Monday, January 5
4:00 - 5:30 p.m. - Come when you can; leave when you can
Bring signs or use ours. Some ideas:
FREE PALESTINE
STOP THE KILLING
HANDS OFF GAZA
STOP THE MASSACRE
HELP GAZA NOW!
U.S. - STOP FUNDING ISRAEL'S WAR MACHINE
While you are there, visit Doris Matsui's office (before 5pm) and leave a written message on the visitor form. Make sure that her staff people log your visit and the reason for it. Her office is at 5th and I in the Federal Building. 501 I St., Suite 12-600.
- Make your expectations clear. Suggested message: Israel's continuing attacks on the people in Gaza are immoral and wrong. The ground invasion is beyond wrong. The US must not support these attacks by word or act, and Congress must stop funding Israel's military. People are dying as we speak.
- If you can't make it to her office, you can call 916-498-5600 and leave a message. Her DC office number is 202-225-7163. Keep visiting and keep calling on other days.
If you aren't in Matsui's district, call Congress at 202-224-3121 and leave messages for your congressperson. The U.S. gives BILLIONS of dollars in aid to Israel every year, and this money goes into the Israeli war machine. Just say no, and tell your congress people that we do not support instutionalized terror.
Peace,
Debra
